COURSE INFORMATION

Accelerator Workshop (AW)

  • A 10-day in-person workshop in Norfolk, England (costing $6,499) designed to accelerate student progress in the areas of Soil Microscopy, BioComplete™ Compost Production, and Biological Liquid Amendments. Students will receive manuals and materials , and have the opportunity to graduate the BioComplete™ Compost and Liquid Amendment courses through participation in the workshop. Graduation requires meeting all the course learning outcomes in an alternative, but equivalent, pathway. Conditions and prerequisites apply; please see below.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Prerequisites for attendance at this workshop. Students must meet all of the following requirements. Failure to do so may result in you being refused admission to the workshop and a refund being withheld:

  1. Students must have completed Soil Food Web Foundation Course 3 (FC3). Students who have not completed Foundation Course 4 (FC4) are required to watch all the lectures in FC4 before you attend the workshop, but you will not be required to have taken FC4 quizzes (we’ll set you up with a special pass so you can skip the quizzes, email sammie@soilfoodweb.com). This is to ensure that you have a good understanding of the microscopy that will be used at the workshop.
  2. Students must pay the required deposit and any remaining balance according to the payment schedule outlined in this agreement. Full payment must be received no later than May 1, 2026
  3. Students are responsible for obtaining their own travel, medical, and medical evacuation insurance they require or desire before attending the workshop.
  4. Completion of the online Pre-workshop Training Course.
  5. You will be required to attend Safety Training and to sign the “Workshop Handbook” on or before day 1 of the workshop.
  6. It is your sole responsibility to check whether you need a visa to travel from your home country and whether your passport allows you to enter and stay in the United Kingdom for the workshop.

Conditions for the opportunity to graduate from BioComplete™ Compost Production and Biological Liquid Amendment Courses. Students must meet all of the following:

  1. Attendance at all 10 days of the workshop and full participation in all activities.
  2. Completion of all four of the Foundation Courses (FCs) and the Soil Microscopy Course.
  3. Students who are joining the workshop but have yet to successfully complete all the FCs and/or the Soil Microscopy Course may do so after the workshop.
  4. Completion of the Student Learning Objectives & Questions document with fully answered responses.

Prerequisites for entering Field Trials. Students must meet all of the following:

  1. All students are required to make (at home) one compost pile with a minimum size of 200 gallons/760 liters to use for Field Trails, that meets the minimum biological requirements as set in the Course Manual. Ensuring these standards are met helps provide a strong biological foundation for effective soil regeneration.
  2. Students will need to perform a Remote Assessment of their compost to demonstrate that it meets the minimum biological requirements for solid compost.
  3. All students will be required to pay the enrollment fee for Field Trials, if they have not already done so.
  4. Once the quality of the student’s compost has been verified, the student will be able to enroll in Field Trials and will be assigned to an Instructor/Mentor who will guide them through the process of correctly preparing for their final project.
  5. If students need additional support with preparation of their compost for use in Field Trials, they can consult an Instructor/Mentor for assistance.

Additional Terms and Conditions:

  1. Students who have already paid for Biocomplete Compost Production or Biological Liquid Amendments (or Stage 1 and/or Stage 2 of the CTP/GTP) will be entitled to a $500 coupon per eligible course purchased, redeemable within 12 months from the execution date of this agreement. Students who received Stage 1 for free as part of a bundle will not be eligible. This coupon may be applied toward the purchase of the Soil Food Web Field Trials Course of the SFW Complete Practicum. Students should contact Student Support for further information. Coupons for previously purchased eligible courses will be issued after the workshop return period has closed. Coupons may not be redeemed prior to the end of the workshop.

How Much Time You’ll Need to Commit:

The workshop will begin at 8am on Monday,Jun 15, 2026 and will end at 5pm on Friday,Jun 26, 2026(the “Workshop Period”). There will be a two day break on the weekend of June 20-21, 2026.


Note: Students are responsible for obtaining their own travel, medical, and medical evacuation insurance they require or desire before attending the workshop. The SFWF is not responsible for any activities that you decide to partake in on the weekend or at any time outside of the workshop.

Deposit for Accelerator Workshop June 2026

Deposit of $1000 USD, with a remaining balance of $5499 USD due by May 1, 2026. If the remaining balance is not paid in full by May 1, 2026, the student's reserved seat will be released to another eligible student, and the deposit will be forfeited.

TOTAL PROGRAM COST: $6,499USD

DEPOSIT RESERVATION STATUS

Payment of the $1,000 deposit reserves a provisional seat in the workshop. Enrollment is considered fully confirmed only after the remaining balance has been paid in full.

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

Cancellation: Students may cancel enrollment by giving written notice to Soil Food Web Foundation before midnight Pacific Time on April 30, 2026. In the event of cancellation by the Soil Food Web Foundation, deposits and any additional payments made toward workshop tuition will be refunded, less applicable transaction processing fees. We recommend that students ensure that they can cancel flights and accommodation in case of workshop cancellation. Students acknowledge that the Soil Food Web Foundation cannot be held responsible for any losses for flights, accommodation, or any other expenses incurred.

The Foundation reserves the right to terminate a student’s participation for unsatisfactory progress, nonpayment of tuition, or failure to abide by established standards as defined in the Foundation’s Code of Conduct. Although the school may provide placement assistance, the Foundation does not guarantee job placement to graduates upon program completion or upon graduation.

ASSUMPTION OF RISK

Certain workshop activities may be conducted on public and private property not owned by Soil Food Web Foundation that may contain unsafe conditions, which may be natural or artificial, including but not limited to tripping and falling hazards or other dangerous topography or features and hazardous materials (including pathogens) and equipment. BY ENTERING INTO THIS AGREEMENT AND ENROLLING IN THE WORKSHOP, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE (I) THAT YOU UNDERSTAND THE INHERENT RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH ATTENDING WORKSHOP SESSIONS ON SUCH PROPERTIES AND ASSUME COMPLETE RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY FOR THOSE RISKS AND ANY INJURIES THAT MAY RESULT FROM SUCH RISKS, EVEN IF THE INJURIES OCCUR IN A MANNER NOT FORESEEABLE AT THE TIME YOU SIGN THIS AGREEMENT, (II) BY VOLUNTARILY ASSUMING THE RISKS INVOLVED, YOU WILL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE YOU SUSTAIN, INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY TO YOU, DAMAGE TO YOUR PROPERTY, OR DAMAGE ARISING OUT OF YOUR DEATH, (III) TO WAIVE AND RELEASE AND AGREE TO HOLD HARMLESS SOIL FOOD WEB FOUNDATION AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, CONTRACTORS, STAFF AND FACULTY (COLLECTIVELY, “RELEASED PARTIES”) FOR ANY LOSSES OR DAMAGES IN ANY WAY ARISING OUT OF THIS WORKSHOP AND ACTIVITIES OCCURRING DURING THE WORKSHOP PERIOD, AND (IV) THAT IN NO CASE SHALL THE RELEASED PARTIES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INJURIES CAUSED BY THE OWNER OF ANY PROPERTY ON WHICH WORKSHOP ACTIVITIES ARE CONDUCTED OR BY SUCH OWNER’S AGENTS, EMPLOYEES OR CONTRACTORS.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITIES

IN NO EVENT SHALL SOIL FOOD WEB FOUNDATION’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THIS AGREEMENT, WHETHER ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO BREACH OF CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE) OR OTHERWISE, EXCEED THE TOTAL OF THE AMOUNTS PAID TO SOIL FOOD WEB FOUNDATION PURSUANT TO THIS AGREEMENT.

Choice of Law; Jurisdiction and Venue for Disputes; Arbitration

This agreement and matters arising out of or relating to this agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon, without giving effect to any conflicts of law provisions thereof. This agreement is deemed to be made in Oregon. EACH PARTY HERETO HEREBY WAIVES ITS RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY WITH RESPECT TO ANY DISPUTE OR CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THIS AGREEMENT and agrees that any dispute or claim that arises out of or that relates to this agreement, or to the interpretation or breach thereof, or to the existence, validity, or scope of this agreement or this arbitration provision, shall be resolved by arbitration in accordance with the then effective arbitration rules of (and by filing a claim with) Arbitration Service of Portland, Inc. THE SEAT OR PLACE OF ARBITRATION SHALL BE PORTLAND, OREGON, AND EXCEPT AS REQUIRED BY LAW, NEITHER PARTY NOR THE ARBITRATOR MAY DISCLOSE THE EXISTENCE, CONTENT OR RESULTS OF ANY ARBITRATION WITHOUT THE WRITTEN CONSENT OF BOTH PARTIES, UNLESS TO PROTECT OR PURSUE A LEGAL RIGHT. FINAL RESOLUTION OF ANY DISPUTE MAY INCLUDE ANY RELIEF THE ARBITRATOR DEEMS JUST AND EQUITABLE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH ANY LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY SET FORTH HEREIN. ANY AWARD OR RELIEF GRANTED BY THE ARBITRATOR SHALL BE FINAL AND BINDING ON THE PARTIES AND MAY BE ENFORCED BY ANY COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION. FOR ANY DISPUTE ARISING HEREUNDER OR RELATED HERETO THAT MAY BE BROUGHT IN COURT, EACH PARTY HEREBY IRREVOCABLY AND UNCONDITIONALLY: (A) CONSENTS AND SUBMITS TO THE EXCLUSIVE JURISDICTION OF THE STATE AND FEDERAL COURTS LOCATED IN PORTLAND, OREGON; AND (B) WAIVES ANY OBJECTION TO THAT CHOICE OF FORUM BASED ON VENUE OR TO THE EFFECT THAT THE FORUM IS NOT CONVENIENT.
